Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, be able to work independently, and possess excellent communication skills.

What you will have the opportunity to do:

• Prepare monthly journal entries.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and analysis.
• Prepare bank reconciliations.
• Assist with the month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Participate in financial audits and internal control testing.
• Assist with the preparation of various schedules required for internal and external reporting, both on a GAAP basis and as required by Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Provide support to other accounting functions as needed.
• Assist with special projects as needed.

Skills and experience needed to succeed in the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Experience completing month end close, reconciling the general ledger and accounting for variances.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
