The Internal Consulting Department partners with leaders across the organization to turn ideas into practical plans, conduct thorough research, and offer ongoing support. The Team is committed to making things better for everyone by enhancing operations and supporting major projects with careful planning and execution. About the role. The Senior Associate, Internal Consulting role is focused on (1) supporting strategic planning and delivery of some of the most critical projects at PURE and (2) using advanced data and analysis skills to answer strategic questions across the organization. Critical skills include project management, excellent communication (verbal, written, and slide development), advanced analytical ability, and a collaborative spirit. This individual has a passion for taking complex problems and breaking them down into digestible components to drive solutions. This individual is comfortable with ambiguity and can quickly become very knowledgeable in multiple disciplines (e.g., IT, Operations, Claims, Service, Underwriting, Risk Management, Marketing, or Distribution). This role will be focused on a subset of strategic projects within the organization with high visibility and guidance from executive leadership. Project goals include driving premium growth, improving operational efficiency, and reducing friction (for employees, broker partners and the membership).. This role will report to an AVP, Senior Project Leader in Internal Consulting Department. Preferred locations (and associated potential offices) for this role are: White Plains, NY Boston. MA Charleston, SC What you’ll do. Help departments in the development of their strategic priorities and create business cases, timelines, and roadmaps to operationalize key initiatives to achieve their long-term goals Manage the day-to-day delivery of complex, cross-functional projects and analytical exercises Provide input and recommendations on strategic projects and scope of work Coordinate execution with Project Sponsors, Executive Leadership, and key business / IT stakeholders, identifying when escalation is needed and brainstorming resolution tactics Lead day-to-day project work in a collaborative manner with different departments (e.g., Claims, Underwriting, Distribution) – sample activities include: Project planning, scoping, and goal definition – deliver results against project plans with autonomy, plan and facilitate team and cross-functional meetings to drive progress Internal diagnostics - documenting current processes and quantifying through analysis, interviews, observations and surveys Research and defining future state – conducting external research, sizing opportunities, testing / validating hypotheses and defining future state vision Build and develop – documenting technical or functional requirements, prioritizing work effort, and troubleshooting issues with IT and other partners Operationalize and manage change – collaborate with functional and centralized teams (e.g., IT, Legal) to support process development, execution planning, communications, and rollout Build and promote a consulting mindset Promote a disciplined approach to resolving issues and delivering results across the organization and encourage and inspire others to drive change and execute on their own Contribute to our team culture based on empathy and service to others What we’re looking for. 3-5+ years of professional experience in the insurance industry, management consulting or project management preferred Strong project manager with a history of leading and / or supporting projects from ideation through implementation – demonstrating the ability to structure a project plan and track against it through the course of a project Structured thinker with advanced data and analytical skills to support thoughtful and comprehensive recommendations to senior leaders, with detailed supporting analysis Proficient user of data tools (SQL, Databricks, Python, R, etc.) with ability to identify, retrieve / query, validate, scrub and consolidate data to conduct analysis Influential contributor capable of managing a variety of stakeholders in a respectful and professional manner whilst still driving results Agile learner who can quickly absorb information and become adept at different areas of the business and apply it to current initiatives Team player that enjoys working collaboratively with others with enthusiasm and trust The base salary for this role can range from $85K - $110K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
