The Opportunity
Reporting to SVP, IT we are looking for a Project Manager who will lead our key IT related projects or other organizational initiatives that are essential to the success of our company. This role will, under general supervision, guide a project from original concept through completion by identifying appropriate resources, providing critical updates to key stakeholders, and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party vendors to deliver projects according to plan. What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage multiple projects involving cross-functional teams focusing on successful completion of project goals by adhering to IT project management methodology within the organization.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential bottlenecks, and provide escalation management.
- Identify and manage interdependencies between concurrent IT projects.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis and effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Create and maintain project management documentations and best practices.
Who You Are
You are an experienced Project Manager. You are a team player with a positive attitude who thrives in a consensus culture with an emphasis on collaboration. You are a self-starter who is excited by the opportunity to jump right in and can come up to speed quickly. You are comfortable working on a lean team and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do the work that needs to be done.
Our new Project Manager will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master Certification or equivalent certifications are an asset.
- Minimum of five years of experience in computer systems as a business analyst.
- Minimum of two years of relevant and progressive professional experience in a Project Manager role.
- P&C insurance experience mandatory, Commercial &/or Surety Insurance experience is a strong asset.
- Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures including project management and risk management practices and techniques.
- Excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) and relationship building skills.
- Ability to interact and present to senior level executives.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with varying degrees of ambiguity simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in an agile or agile-hybrid SDLC to delivery IT related projects.
- Strong familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Projects, CA PPM, JIRA).
- Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word).
- Multilingual (French & English) is an asset, but not mandatory.

We work in a hybrid model and you should expect to split your time between working in the office and working remotely, with flexibility based on the role and the business needs. We currently have an office in downtown Toronto and will eventually be establishing offices in other provinces.
