• Job Description Summary

  ($85,000 - $105,000 annually)
  
  The Senior Adjuster is responsible for the end-to-end administration of general cargo claims. This includes receiving, evaluating, negotiating, and settling claims submitted by Insureds, Brokers, and/or Claimants. The adjuster will ensure proper reserving practices, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, assess subrogation potential, and assign recovery cases to subrogation vendors. This role also supports underwriting and AEOs by identifying and communicating loss trends and key claim insights.

• Essential Job Functions:
  • Receive, review, and evaluate general cargo claims submitted by Insureds, Brokers, or Claimants for approval and settlement within designated authority limits.
  • Exercise discretion and sound judgment in all phases of claims handling, including coverage analysis and liability assessment.
  • Initiate and maintain direct communication with Claimants, Brokers, and Surveyors.
  • Coordinate and arrange third-party inspections and damage surveys.
  • Assign claims to approved subrogation vendors for recovery efforts and monitor progress.
  • Accurately reserve claims and ensure timely and complete data entry into internal systems (VITAL Cloud/TED).
  • Coordinate with Underwriters, AEOs, and management on loss trends and claim insights.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and regulatory requirements.
