Position: Billing Lead or Supervisor
Department: Billing
Supervisor: Billing Manager
Billing Supervisor
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee day-to-day billing operations to ensure service levels and customer needs are met or exceeded, and that the department is in compliance with audits. This includes coordination of team's task assignments and prioritization of workload.
- Develop and maintain a solid understanding of Billing processes and procedures. Serve as a go-to resource and provide training to team on processes and procedures, as needed. Ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are maintained.
- Ensure that SOX, internal and external audits are completed successfully and on time, and that Billing processes are in compliance with these audits.
- Support continuous improvement efforts. Review processes and data regularly to recommend process improvements enhancements / changes as needed.
- Provide back-up support as needed and complete other tasks as assigned by Manager.
Lead, Billing: (in addition to the above duties plus the following):
This position is intended to transition into the Supervisor role.
- Eventually provide direct day-to-day oversight of 2–3 billing associates, including task delegation, support, and performance feedback, while receiving ongoing coaching and guidance from the Billing Manager to build supervisory skills and confidence.
Supervisor, Billing: (in addition to the above duties plus the following):
- Directly manage Billing associates, ensuring they have the tools to successfully perform their jobs and provide excellent customer service. Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports. Resolve escalated customer inquiries / complaints.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or 4 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable and/or supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good knowledge of billing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Lead, Billing (all the above requirements including the following):
- 3+ years Billing or Accounting experience
- No management experience required
Supervisor, Billing (all the above requirements including the following):
- 3+ years Billing or Accounting experience
- 1+ years serving in a formal supervisory role with input into hiring and compensation decisions, managing workflow and resource allocation, and conducting performance evaluations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Guidewire Billing Center, insurance industry, and process improvement experience
Special Remarks:
- May require periodic overtime

$61,200 - $80,990
