Job Purpose:
The Catastrophe Analyst will work within the Exposure Management team to provide catastrophe modelling and exposure management support to multiple lines of business including but not limited to Treaty Reinsurance, Japanese Business and Tokio Marine Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in all aspects of Catastrophe and Exposure Management reporting as required.
- Provide analysis to underwriters for quoted business with particular focus on Treaty Reinsurance.
- Produce Japanese Business and Tokio Marine Europe portfolio results for inclusion in TMHCC Group exposures on a monthly basis.
- Responsibility for live and post event Catastrophe modelling and aggregation reporting.
- Compile and validate quarterly ELT’s for Capital Modelling use.
- Assist in solvency II model materiality and model validation documentation.
- Assist with ongoing projects and strive for improvement to current processes.
Performance Objectives:
- To gain a solid understanding of our core lines of business and key workflows.
- To be able to use the TigerEye, Exact Max systems for Treaty Reinsurance analysis.
- To integrate and become a key member of the Exposure Management team.
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of Aggregation and Modelling systems.
- Educated to degree level, preferably with CCRA or equivalent industry qualification.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Strong understanding of Reinsurance and Direct Insurance.
- Strong organisational and workload management skills.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Competent with coding programmes such as SQL/R/Python.
- Competent with modelling Treaty Reinsurance and complex structures.
Desirable:
- 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar or relevant role
- Exposure to at least one of the major Catastrophe modelling systems such as Moody’s, AIR or CoreLogic.
