About the role. We are seeking a Surplus Lines Compliance Specialist with a strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a passion for regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to surplus lines premium reporting, tax filings, and regulatory requirements while supporting efficient and accurate compliance processes. The position requires collaboration with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and carrier partners to maintain seamless operations and compliance. The Surplus Lines Compliance Analyst supports PURE Programs, LLC, a Managing General Underwriter within the PURE Group of Insurance Companies. What you’ll do. The Surplus Lines Compliance Specialist will oversee PURE Programs’ countrywide surplus lines premium reporting, filing, and tax payments. Key responsibilities include: Identifying, analyzing, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, including tax and fee rate changes, diligent search requirements, and tax payment methods and deadlines. Monitoring legal changes and assessing their impact on surplus lines products. Creating, reviewing, and ensuring compliance when launching new products or expanding into new states. Responding to carrier partner audits, Stamping Office, and regulator inquiries and examinations. Coordinating Lloyd’s coverholder audits and annual Due Diligence responses. Supporting and enhancing surplus lines process automation while driving the implementation of new initiatives. What we’re looking for. Required: Associate or Bachelor’s degree Required: 5–7 years of surplus lines or non-admitted insurance experience in a legal or compliance role at an MGU or carrier Property & Casualty experience, preferably in personal lines Proficient in Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with professionals at all levels Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines Ability to take initiative and assume ownership of tasks and responsibilities. Outstanding attention to detail Ability to question, analyze, and provide recommendations at both strategic and detailed levels The base salary for this role can range from $100K - $120K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
